I am not old, but I am not young, so when I heard the name Show Cigarillos, I knew right away it had to be a newer brand. The old-timer stuff has names with Indians or manly words in it, and the new stuff always has a flashy name. I for one, don't really care about the name, it is all in the smoke for me.
From the Show Cigarillos website "The Show Cigarillos come in natural vanilla, cognac, and white grape.
They are 27 ring gauge cigars and 4 inches long. These are the typical
small cigar-type cigarillos. They are also available in a Candela
(green-wrapped, as opposed to the Connecticut brown natural wrapper).
Show Cigarillos that come in vanilla, cognac, and white-grape are 4
inches long and a 27 ring gauge, and homogenized wrapped cigarillos in
sweet, green-white grape, and green sweet."
Sounds simple enough, but I decided to order them from buydiscountcigars.com and see if Show Cigarillos were ready for Show Time. First off, a big spoiler/warning, the box features the silhouette of a stripper on a pole. There is no punchline, and I am not pulling your leg, there is literally a stripper on the box! I laughed, but if you are uptight or conservative, you might want to skip this brand. If you are headed out to club, then they might be a great conversation piece, lol.
Now, the cigars themselves are your standard Cigarillo as the site indicates, and they are machine made and reasonably uniform. At under $25 for a box of 60, they are VERY reasonably priced. As far as smoking, I tried the sweets, and they were about as good as any other run-of-the-mill sweet cigarillo. Kind of smooth, pretty sweet, and smoked for a decent amount of time with an ok burn.
Do Show Cigarillos take smoking to the next level? Not really at all, but if you are looking for a brand with some attitude, the flashy package and stripper on a pole should do just nicely.
