Today my box of BlackStone cigars came from buydiscountcigars.com, and wow did they get here fast! The package was in great shape, and I was eager to tear it open and try these new cigars out. Once I opened the shipping package I saw the BlackStone cigars box. It is pretty boring, just has the name and some standard info on it, but these aren't the kind of cigars you buy for a pretty package/box, you buy them to smoke them!
The cigars themselves show good uniformity, and seem to be well-made for machine-made cigars. They seemed tight, but not overly, and the wrapper has an attractive color with a slight oiliness to it. (Good sign as I hate dried out cigars and that is always a sure fire sign that they are not fresh!) The BlackStone cigars nose well, and had slight hints of wood, spice and vanilla.
After a pretty good inspection, I decided it was time to try the real test, smoking them! (This is also my favorite part of reviewing cigars lol) The cigar lit relatively well, with a pretty even ash developing with little trouble or gaming. The smoke also was quite pleasant, and seemed to linger only a short while. All of this is good, but the best part was the smoke itself. It was very mild, almost too much so, and was incredibly pleasant. I was really surprised to get such a quality tobacco blend at the price of BlackStone cigars.
If you like a big, full-bodied smoke, I would advise you to skip this one. But, if you enjoy a mellow tobacco blend with a smooth character, you should definitely buy Blackstone cigars and give them a try yourself.
